President Obama returned home from his history making trip of apologies to leaders around the world on Wednesday. I say history making due to the fact that he managed to accomplish more to destroy America's reputation in 8 days than the Bush administration could even dream of doing in 8 years. In what was called "Protocol is abandoned as Michelle Obama cosies up to Queen," the First Lady hugged the Queen of England and placed her hand on the the queens shoulder. Then Obama, staying true to his gift choices gives The Queen an iPod. The fact that he does not understand the symbolism of the gift is because he does not stand for America's heritage, as he went on to prove later in his trip. The gift is meant to symbolize the long existing bond that our two nations have with each other, not some mere gadget that will be outdated next year.
President Obama then proceeded to apologize to French and German students for America's arrogance stating that the US has “failed to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world”. Obama went on to say "“Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.” Obama recieved praise from France's Nicolas Sarkozy for pledging to close Guantanamo Bay saying "Guantanamo was not in keeping with US values". Obama replied "I made the decision to close Guantanamo because I don't think it makes America safer."
Obama then went on to disgrace America and the office of President by bowing to the Saudi King while the G-20 world leaders were assembling for a phototgragh of the group. Out of the dozens of other foreign dignitaries in the room, Obama was the only one to bow before the Saudi royalty. This is further proof that Obama does not uphold American values and heritage, as our nation fought the American Revolution to secure that we do not bow to royalty. The Presidents act of bowing to the Saudi King is a gesture that is submissive and only serves to show Obama's true set of values, which appears to be American submission to the world community. The White House says that Obama did not bow, that he was merely bending down because the Saudi King is much shorter than Obama. However Obama did not bend down to welcome the Queen of England, whom is shorter still than the Saudi King. Perhaps the Presidential Bow to the Saudi King was merely a warm-up for what was to come next.
On his stop in Turkey Obama declared that the U.S. "is not and will never be at war with Islam," and went on to say, "We will listen carefully, we will bridge misunderstanding, and we will seek common ground. We will be respectful, even when we do not agree. And we will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over centuries to shape the world -- including in my own country," and that "The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans. Many other Americans have Muslims in their family, or have lived in a Muslim-majority country -- I know, because I am one of them." President Obama then went on to disenfranchise the American people of our heritage by saying "We don't consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values."
The actions of President Obama on his first visit to the world leaders show his distain for American values and principles and shows a great deal of insight into the direction that he wishes to take this country. Instead of promoting the principles and values that has historically been the strength that has made our country great, Obama seems intent on moving America into the center of transnationalism and global economic and social agendas. His policies are sending our nation on a dangerous course that will ultimately cost America its sovereignty and independence in the world stage and create an era in which the US government will have answer to the demands of world leaders instead of the interest of the American People.
